CLASSROOM ENERGY DETECTIVE KITS

Solve Energy Mysteries In Your Classroom!

As part of the Hawai’i School Conservation Program, Blue Planet Foundation, Hawaiian Electric Company, and Kokua Hawai’i Foundation have partnered to provide Classroom Energy Detective Kits to Hawai’i Schools. Our goals are to empower schools to decrease their energy usage on campus and empower students to think critically about energy use and climate change and change their behaviors accordingly.

These kits include a “Kill-A-Watt” energy monitoring device, along with information on how to use it for classroom learning. Schools, teachers, and students can use the Kill-A-Watt to determine the power consumption of individual appliances in classrooms.
